Key needs of fresh post op ostomates
Posted: 28 Jan 06 11:33 AM

Hospital stays are so short, post op needs of the ostomate are sometimes poorly addressed. The staff usually focuses on tasks pertaining to ostomy care, directing the patient towards self care; such as emptying and changing the pouching system. What are the key needs that we WOC/ET nurses should focus? What do we miss in the process? What do we need to do that we are not doing?

Let me know and I will spread the word. Please take a minute to register and then come and give us your opinion.
